To educate 5-11 year old children with ASC so they can reach their maximum potential, irrespective of their starting point in life. Integrating academic, therapeutic and social approaches, we aim to support our students on their journey to a happy and independent adult life.
Teaching & Learning
At Imperial Oak School, we tailor teaching and learning experiences to suit each individual.
Our curriculum is organized into three distinct pathways—Informal, Semi-formal, and Formal. Each of these has its own specific pedagogical approach tailored to address the collective needs of the pupils within that pathway. This approach is further personalized to a greater extent to meet the specific needs of each individual pupil.
Imperial Oak School excels in catering to ASC pupils. Alongside our highly personalized curriculum, we ground our practices in evidence-based frameworks. Our commitment extends to following the guidance provided by the National Autistic Society, ensuring a comprehensive fulfilment of ASC pupils’ needs.

Dear Visitor,
Our story began over 15 years ago when our founders, a husband and wife, realised their son wasn’t adequately prepared for school despite attending nursery for over two years. This revelation ignited a passion within them to ensure no other parents or child faced the same struggle. Thus, they embarked on a mission to create a nurturing environment where children receive the essential skills needed to thrive in school and beyond.
After years of meticulous research and assembling a dedicated team, our Day Nursery in Greenwich borough was established. Since then, we’ve provided care and education to hundreds of children in our community. Our approach emphasises learning through play, focusing on seven key areas to lay a strong foundation for each child’s academic and personal development.
Driven by the success of our nursery, and many parents expressing a desire for us to extend our educational offerings to primary school. After thorough deliberation and research, we proudly introduce Imperial Oak Preparatory School.
Our vision is rooted in the belief that every child is unique and deserving of quality education and support.
At Imperial, our goal is to nurture each pupil’s talents and abilities, regardless of background or ability, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance to excel.

Landon will extend the provision in future years to older age groups so that our students can benefit from the continuity and stability of their Imperial Oak School experience. We have already identified further space on the same school site that we can use for more classes.
Most parents will need to get local authority funding to pay for the specialist education that Landon provides. However, those parents who can pay fees should inquire directly at the school.

We place a strong emphasis on supporting children with autism during transitions. We offer a comprehensive settling-in period tailored to each child’s individual needs. Recognising that transitions can be challenging for autistic children, our approach is fully individualised, with continuous support provided throughout the process. We employ social stories, transition days, and personalised timetables to ensure a smooth and successful transition for the children and their families. We aim to create a supportive and nurturing environment that addresses each child’s unique needs during this crucial adjustment period.
