Keeping Our Children Safe is Our Highest Priority

At Imperial Oak School, every child and young person’s health, safety, and well-being is our top priority. We expect all staff, governors, and volunteers to share this commitment to safeguarding our pupils.

We listen to our students and take what they tell us seriously. All school staff have regular safeguarding training and students are made aware of the adults they can talk to if they have any concerns. Staff are trained to look out for signs of safety and well-being, and are required to report these to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

Our Imperial Oak School safeguarding policy has been written in line with DfE guidelines, legislation, and the Hillingdon Area Safeguarding Team. It can be viewed on our website, under policies.

We carry out the appropriate HR and safeguarding checks on all our staff, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024.

If our concerns about a child or young person may mean that we have to consult other agencies. We will usually ensure that concerns are discussed with parents/carers first before any referrals are made. We will not do this if we believe that such a move may be contrary to a child or young person’s welfare.

If you have any concerns, no matter how small they may seem, about the safety or welfare of any child, please contact the school’s Safeguarding team at:
